Protea Sea Point opens following revamp

Protea Hotel in Sea Point, Cape Town, has opened for business after it closed for renovations over the winter season.

A new open-plan design incorporates the lounge, bar and restaurant area. A nine-metre-long communal work table fitted with iPads has been installed, allowing guests to make use of the complimentary 500Mb of WiFi. The lounge area has been redesigned with intimate seating for meetings. The restaurant patio has been redone with beach-house-style furniture and greenery.

As part of the renovations, the sea-facing rooms have been upgraded and all the rooms have been fitted with environmentally friendly air-conditioners. The family rooms are more spacious and now offer the option of four single beds or two double beds

“The hotel still offers world-class service but the feel of it has changed from depth of earthier tones to a space that is light, airy and extremely attractive,” said Danny Bryer, Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue.

Protea Hotel Sea Point is one of 12 Protea Hospitality Group properties in the city and is the fourth hotel in the portfolio on the Atlantic Seaboard to have undergone a transformation since 2011.
