RwandAir to go daily to LHR

RwandAir will launch daily flights between Kigali International Airport and London Heathrow on October 29.

The carrier launched four direct flights a week to Heathrow in November last year. Before that it operated flights to the UK capital via an indirect service through Brussels.

“Having first launched flights to the British capital in 2017, we have continued to build our presence following strong demand from customers here in the UK and Africa,” said RwandAir CEO, Yvonne Makolo.

“We know these new daily direct flights will offer customers the convenience and connectivity which they have long asked for and look forward to welcoming more visitors to Rwanda.”

The daily service will be operated with an Airbus A330, featuring up to 30 lie-flat business-class seats and up to 244 economy-class seats, reports Inflight.

The new schedule coming into effect on October 29 makes it a good daily connection for South African travellers from both Johannesburg and Cape Town to reach London.

Flight WB107 departs JNB at 16h00 and arrives KGL at 21h30.

Flight WB 710 departs KGL at 23h35 and arrives LHR at 06h20 the following day.

Flight WB 711 departs LHR at 20h30 and arrives KGL at 07h00 the following day.

Flight WB 106 departs KGL at 09h40 and arrives JNB at 15h00.

The Cape Town flight connects with just one hour and ten minutes to spare in either direction, but insiders say Kigali International Airport is small and efficient and that the connecting time should be sufficient.

Flight WB 111 departs CPT at 16h10 and arrives KGL at 22h25.

Flight WB 710 departs KGL at 23h35 and arrives LHR at 06h20 the following day.

Flight WB 711 departs LHR at 20h30 and arrives KGL at 07h00 the following day.

Flight WB 110 departs KGL at 08h10 and arrives CPT at 14h55.

Fares from JNB to LHR, for August, start from R14 800, while fares from CPT start from

R16 950 return, including taxes. Subject to availability and change.
