SAA has once again applied for a new route in Africa, this time for Bamako in Mali.
This is according to the Government Gazette, dated May 2, 2014, which states that the airline has applied for three flights per week to the West African city. Bamako is not on its current schedule.
SAA has also applied for two return flights per week to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. It already flies daily to Addis Ababa from Johannesburg. The Gazette further states that the national carrier has applied for a code share to four Chinese destinations: Chongquig, Qingdao, Nanjing and Dalian.
