SAA launches special deals for direct bookings

06 Dec 2017 - by Chana Boucher

SAA has introduced a new

service for customers

booking ights direct

online – the ability to book

sightseeing, entertainment

activities and transfers at their

destinations. It will not be

available on GDS bookings.

The initiative is in

partnership with Amsterdambased,

DealBroker, a travel

tech company serving the

global travel and tourism

industry. A few days before

departure, travellers will

receive an e-mail from SAA

with offers such as guided

tours, museums, zoos, mini

cruises, restaurants and other

local activities. Travellers

can buy these online and

then receive a gift voucher

that can be redeemed at

the destination. DealBroker

will also seek out local

services at each destination

to cater for the demands of

customers.

Travel agents booking on the

GDS will not be able to offer

the service to their clients.

“Only bookings made directly

with SAA will get the emails

from DealBroker,” says SAA

spokesperson, Tlali Tlali. The

service will apply to local and

international destinations.

Tlali says through this

partnership “SAA is giving

exposure to all of those

operators in SA who do not

normally have the budgets

to advertise, and exposure

to all customers booking via

ysaa.com”. He says this will

increase operators’ turnovers.

Giorgos Mazarakis,

DealBroker senior project

manager, says: “The

DealBroker system is very

sophisticated and converts

all passenger details into

parameters, which are used

to create the personalised

emails with tours and

activities.”

These services are not

covered by the product on

offer from SAA Holidays.
