South Africans visiting Egypt are exempt from paying a visa fee when obtaining a visa on arrival.
Egypt’s visa on arrival and e-visa fees were previously set at US$25 (R420), with multiple reports indicating that fees increased to US$30 (R505) from March 1.
However, the Egyptian embassy in South Africa has confirmed that South African passport holders can still get the visa on arrival without paying the fee.
