Singapore Airlines is increasing its flight frequency to
Cape Town.
From March 26, Cape Town will be serviced with a daily
flight via Johannesburg, up from the current four flights a week. The
additional flights are SQ478 (Singapore-Johannesburg-Cape Town) and SQ479 (Cape
Town-Johannesburg-Singapore).
SQ will operate the Cape Town and Johannesburg flights using
its Airbus A350-900. The aircraft seats 253 passengers in three classes – 42 in
business class, 24 in premium economy and 187 in economy class.
The new flights are subject to regulatory approvals.
The new flights will operate as follows: flight SQ478 will
depart Singapore on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 02h00 and arrive in
Johannesburg at 06h35. It will depart Johannesburg at 07h35 and arrive in Cape
Town at 09h45. SQ479 will depart Cape Town at 11h00 and arrive in Johannesburg
at 12h55. It will depart Johannesburg at 13h55 and arrive in Cape Town at 06h10
the next day.
The current flight SQ478 departs Singapore on Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 01h25 and arrives in Johannesburg at 06h10.
It departs Johannesburg at 07h10 and arrives in Cape Town and 09h25. SQ479 departs
Cape Town on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 10h40 and arrives in
Johannesburg at 12h40. It departs Johannesburg at 13h45 and arrives in
Singapore at 06h10 the next day.
