Stellenbosch Wine Harvest Parade back in play

05 Apr 2022

Following a two-year hiatus due to pandemic regulations, the Stellenbosch Wine Harvest Parade is set to return to the streets of South Africa’s wine capital on Saturday, April 9.

The procession will see farmers, workers and wine-lovers atop colourful floats to signify the end of another productive wine grape season.

The parade gets under way at 09h00, leaving from the Toy and Miniature Museum, and arrives 30 minutes later at the Stellenbosch Town Hall. Here, the mayor will award the prize for the best float as well as the parade’s most spirited team.

After a short ceremony, the parade will continue on its way through the streets of Stellenbosch.  Participants will be treated to a braai, live music, and refreshments, with special entertainment available for children attending the festival.

The Stellenbosch Harvest Parade takes place with the support of the region’s wineries, wine route organisation, Wesgro and Stellenbosch Municipality.
