TAP Air Portugal blocks non-Iata agents on GDS

TAP Air Portugal has blocked non-Iata agents from processing
flight bookings on the GDS as a result of high volumes of wastage, according to
a spokesperson.

The spokesperson confirmed that a few Iata agents had also
been blocked in error. Iata agents who are experiencing difficulty are advised
to contact the airline and provide their Iata number. “All queries will be
resolved as quickly as possible.”

The spokesperson advised that negotiations are under way to
determine the way forward for the airline and non-Iata agents. The Lisbon head
office will release information in the next two days that will clarify TAP Air
Portugal’s official position.

In the meantime, non-Iata agents are able to book the
airline through its direct booking channels.
