Town comes alive after "suicide months"

SPRINGTIME in the Western Cape coastal town of Knysna heralds a rebirth of the town's tourism season - following what many call its "suicide months" from May to August - and will kick-start its season with the Nederburg Knysna Arts Experience, held from September 22 to October 1.
According to festival co-ordinator, Picca de Bruyn, the festival features a variety of visual, community and performing arts as well as theatre and arts workshops, eco-excursions and choir competitions.
De Bruyn says the festival extends to Knysna's neighbouring town of Plettenberg Bay.
