African travel agents will have access to Travelport’s Lufthansa Group airlines’ NDC content and offerings from the beginning of 2024.

Travelport and Sabre have announced that they plan to launch Lufthansa Group’s NDC content and offers on their GDSs.

Agents who use Travelport+ can search and compare NDC offers from the Lufthansa Group airlines, including Lufthansa, SWISS, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines and Air Dolomiti.

Travelport’s Lufthansa NDC content is currently available to travel agency clients in Austria, Ireland, the Netherlands and the UK. In the coming weeks, the content will be made available to other European countries, and in early 2024, it will roll out to customers in Africa, the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas.

“We are dedicated to making NDC easy for the agency community, and that is why we have focused on delivering a complete retail-ready NDC solution for the Lufthansa Group airlines,” said Jason Clarke, Chief Commercial Officer, Travel Partners at Travelport.

He explained that the NDC solution minimised complex retailing processes and that agents using Travelport+ could easily shop and book NDC offers from the Lufthansa Group, which provides “a seamless servicing experience for travellers”.

Sabre’s Lufthansa NDC content is available to agents in Italy on activation of Lufthansa Group’s NDC Partner Programme through Sabre Offer, Order APIs – Sabre’s Red 360 agency booking solution – and its GetThere online booking tool.
