Turkey and Morocco plan flights to Libya

Royal Air Maroc and Turkish Airlines plan to restart flights to Libya following a nine-year hiatus.

Last week, Royal Air Maroc delegates visited Libya’s only international airport, Mitiga International Airport, to assess whether it meets the recommendations of ICAO, reports simpleflying.com.

Morocco’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics has indicated a possible resumption of the route.

Libya is also planning to welcome back Turkish Airlines, with Turkey’s Ambassador to Libya agreeing to prepare an MOU to expedite the Turkish carrier’s return.

Afriqiyah Airways, Berniq Airways, and national carrier Libyan Airlines currently offer flights to Istanbul, making it one of only a few international destinations to which the embattled African nation flies.
