Universal Orlando to open two budget hotels

Universal Park and Resorts is due to open two budget hotels in Orlando, Florida, with rooms from $70 (R1 010) a night.



The 750-room Surfside Inn and Suites is due to open in August and a second 2 050-room hotel, Docklands Inn and Suites, will open in 2020.



Together they will make up the Endless Summer Resort and will be located on the 26 hectare site, previously home to the Wet n' Wild water park.



Dave Cole, Universal Park and Resorts senior sales manager EMEA, said the hotels would have two-bedroom family suites for larger families.



He said guests would get early-admission privileges to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay, and free bus transportation around the resort.
