From July 31, Canada has required visa applicants to be prepared to submit biometrics at VFS Global in Pretoria, upon request.
The Immigration and Visa Section of the High Commission of Canada, based in Pretoria, told eTNW that applicants who were required to submit biometrics would receive a Biometric Letter of Instruction from the Government of Canada informing them that they would be unable to obtain a Canadian visa without first submitting their biometrics to VFS.
At the time, it was indicated that not every client would necessarily have to submit biometrics, only those who received a letter.
However, the High Commission of Canada, based in Pretoria, has since confirmed that all South African citizens are required to enrol their biometrics at the Visa Application Centre when submitting their application.
