City Lodge Hotels has completed a full refurbishment of Courtyard Hotel Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape, updating its 91 rooms, restaurant, meeting facilities and public spaces.
The four-star seafront hotel has 80 studios and 11 one-bedroom suites with interleading rooms. Its redesign draws on the colours of Algoa Bay and introduces a co-working lounge, a new bar and an updated restaurant now named 25° East.
The hotel’s three meeting rooms accommodate between 10 and 80 people individually. The combined event space can host up to 120 delegates for a cocktail function.
“Our objective was to preserve that familiarity while transforming Courtyard Hotel Gqeberha into a distinctive coastal destination,” says Lindiwe Sangweni-Siddo, Chief Operating Officer at City Lodge Hotels. “It brings business, conferencing and leisure together in one exceptional setting, offering an elevated lifestyle experience, sublime comfort and a sense of luxury while remaining warmly connected to its destination.”
The refurbishment was part of City Lodge Hotels’ ongoing investment in its 56-property portfolio. Refurbishments are underway at Road Lodge Gqeberha and City Lodge Hotel Sandton, Morningside and further upgrades are planned for 2027.
