Virgin Atlantic will introduce the A350-1000 on its daily Johannesburg-London Heathrow service from October 25 and add three weekly flights from December, as it marks 30 years of serving Johannesburg.
The A350-1000 will operate flights VS449 from Heathrow and VS450 from Johannesburg, offering Upper Class, Premium and Economy cabins.
The additional services, operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft, will increase the route’s frequency to 10 flights a week. Flight VS461 will depart Heathrow on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from December 13, while VS462 will depart Johannesburg on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from December 14.
The expanded schedule will provide more capacity during South Africa’s summer and festive travel period, with onward connections through Heathrow to destinations across North America, the Caribbean and Europe.
