THE Johannesburg Zoo has announced the appointment of a chief executive officer whose main task will be to turn the attraction into a fully-functional business
with the means to support itself independently of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Council.
Ms Thembikile Magi, who takes up this challenge on September 1, hails from the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) and - hailed as the woman responsible for the positive financial turnaround of George Airport in the Western Cape - is currently assistant manager of Durban International Airport.
