This week, Zimbabwe has moved from a COVID-19 lockdown level 4 to level 2, largely based on a decline in infections as well the success of the country’s vaccine roll-out.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced that the curfew hours were now 22h00 to 05h30.

Businesses, including tourism businesses, are allowed to operate from 08h00 to 19h00. Restaurants and bars within hotels and lodges can stay open from 08h00 to 22h00.

Beerhalls and nightclubs, however, remain closed.

Public gatherings should not exceed 100 people, while offices are expected to have no more than 50% of their workforce present at one time.

Intercity transport is also now permitted with strict adherence to COVID-19 health restriction measures.

Low-risk sports will resume from 08h00 to16h00, while high- and medium-risk sporting activities should seek approval from Government.

Travellers entering the country must present a COVID-19 test valid within less than 48 hours.

The lockdown relaxation measures will be reviewed in two weeks.
