HAVING been closed for two months for extensive refurbishments, the exclusive Bushman's Kloof Wilderness Reserve - a member of Relais & Chateaux - reopened this month.
Located in the Western Cape, just 270 kilometres from Cape Town, the addition of two new suites has brought the total number of rooms to 16, offering accommodation for up to 32 people.
Spanners Boma was also extended to offer two lounge areas featuring central fireplaces on the mezzanine level overlooking the new 36-seater dining area.
The lodge now also sports three swimming pools with the recent addition having been built in an indigenous garden.
The reopening of the lodge also marks the introduction of the wine list which received a Merit Award in the 2000 Diners Club Wine List of the Year competition. (See story: Cheers to Hotel Winners).
New additions to the Bushman's Kloof wine list include some rare South African wines featured on the 'Bushman's Best Rare Wine List'.
