Delta Air Lines’ team of 100 000 employees is focused on delivering a reliable, high-quality experience and minimising inconvenience when circumstances disrupt scheduled operations.
Delta deeply values the trust customers place in the airline to transport them safely and on time to their destination. That said, Delta also understands the journey to people and places that connect the world sometimes does not go as expected.
The airline’s culture is founded on the principle of having its customers’ backs, particularly if they experience a delay, misconnect or cancellation. Delta stands by its commitment to ensure customers get to where they need to be on a safe and clean flight, on time and with their bags.
The following provides steps customers can take to make the most of their Delta travel experience.
Know before you go
Join Delta SkyMiles
When travellers create a SkyMiles account, they get more than just miles earned toward their next trip. Their SkyMiles account ensures that Delta personnel can more seamlessly know their travel details and preferences and can aid with reaccommodating them should disruptions in their travel occur.
Keeping customers’ SkyMiles profile information up to date can help Delta teams reach them quickly and allows for direct contact and updates when needed.
The Fly Delta app
Delta’s digital tools offer quick and seamless options to make changes to travellers’ itinerary – either in the Fly Delta app, on delta.com or by using its messaging feature for further assistance.
The app is packed with features that help customers save time and manage travel effectively, even when the unexpected happens, like the ‘Help Center’ view, designed to simplify and streamline the actions required to continue their journey during travel disruptions.
Passport check
If passengers have plans to travel internationally, they need to confirm their destination’s passport requirements and allow enough time to get their passports renewed.
Many countries will not grant entry to a traveller unless the passport expires at least six months after the final day of travel. That said, if a traveller’s passport has less than six months remaining until it expires, plan and allow enough time to renew it before departure.
Know your zone
Customers can see their boarding pass (printed or digital in the Fly Delta app) for their boarding zone number and follow along with the sequencing via airport screens and gate announcements.
Arrive early
As a general rule, travellers must plan to arrive three hours before their scheduled departure time, especially on busy travel days.
