The highest urban bar in Africa, on the 57th floor of The Leonardo in Sandton, opened this past weekend.

Named Alto234, the space can accommodate up to 100 people across seven seating areas and offers 360-degree views of Sandton and Johannesburg. Entry costs R300 per person.

Both the drinks and food on offer, which includes a luxury tapas menu, are headed by The Leonardo’s AURUM Restaurant.

In celebration of the opening, Moët & Chandon gifted the open-air bar a limited-edition Moët Mini Machine. Using Moët & Chandon tokens, guests can order 200ml bottles of champagne with golden sippers (an extension which fits into the neck of the bottle and turns the bottle into a virtual champagne flute).
