Air Botswana – GSA appointed

10 Jun 2021
Comments | 0

AirlinePros has been appointed Air Botswana’s GSA in South Africa, effective June 2021, and will take responsibility for reservations, ticketing and sales and marketing in the SA market.

The news will come as a relief to agents in South Africa who last week complained to Travel News about the fact that there were no Air Botswana staff who could help them with queries in South Africa, and they were being told that all queries had to be routed to head office by email, resulting in slow turnarounds, according to these agents.

That’s all history now. “Air Botswana is pleased to expand its relationship with AirlinePros in the Southern African market and this comes at a critical point where the airline is in the recovery phase, following the devastating effects of COVID-19 on the entire aviation industry. We have a fruitful partnership with AirlinePros for ARC Coordination Services in the US market, and we look forward to more successful co-operation in the South African market, one of our key markets,” said Air Botswana gm, Agnes T Khunwana.

Karin Matodes, chief commercial officer, AirlinePros South Africa, added: “Botswana is a market that has always been close to our hearts and our team has a sound understanding and knowledge of the destination. Bringing Air Botswana into our portfolio as the industry starts on the road to recovery is exciting for us, and our team is ready to share our experience and support with our travel trade partners.”

AirlinePros says the airline will be on Travelinfo soon.
