Ethiopian Airlines will resume three weekly flights between Addis Ababa and Atlanta from May 21 after a suspension of the route from February.
The service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and will stop at Rome Fiumicino.
TAAG takes delivery of A220
On March 15, TAAG Angola Airlines took delivery of its sixth new A220-300.
The newly delivered aircraft will be used to strengthen the airline’s overall flight schedule, with a particular focus on the regional network, supporting the airline’s commitment to improving intra-Africa connectivity.
The aircraft has a seating capacity of 137 passengers, configured with 12 seats in business class and 125 seats in economy class.
ET to move to JFK New Terminal One
Ethiopian will move to New York John F Kennedy’s New Terminal One when it opens later this year.
The carrier will operate its services from New York to its Addis Ababa hub, providing one-stop access to destinations throughout Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
The New Terminal One, which will replace the airport’s Terminals 1, 2 and 3, will feature new arrivals and departures halls and 14 new gates. At completion in 2030, it will have 23 gates and be the largest terminal at JFK. The terminal will be equipped with modern amenities and elevated retail and dining options.
Frankfurt Airport to introduce operations to new terminal
On April 23, Frankfurt Airport will open its new €4 billion (R78 billion) Terminal 3 for its inaugural operations.
The new terminal, which will eventually handle up to 25 million passengers per year, will accommodate nearly 60 airlines. The airlines will move to the terminal in four phases up to June 9.
On April 23, Emirates, Etihad and Qatar will move to the new terminal. British Airways will move on May 19 and Air France-KLM will move on June 9. Condor will only start operating at the new terminal from northern summer 2027.
