Air Zim plots GDS return

Air Zimbabwe plans to rejoin global ticketing and codesharing platforms after stating it had cleared a debt of over $1 million (R17,7 million) to key international service providers.

Air Zimbabwe CEO, Edmund Makona, made the announcement in Victoria Falls last week, saying that global visibility was a top priority as part of the airline’s broader turnaround strategy.

The airline is currently integrating its systems with global distribution networks, a process that is expected to take around three months, according to Zim Eye.

Last month, the airline said it was selling two Boeing 777-200ER aircraft to allegedly address financial difficulties, including debt of more than $30 million (R533,1 million).
