Airlink is adding another new route to its expanding intra-Africa network with the launch of its Johannesburg-Entebbe service.

Four flights a week will operate on the route from July 19, offering connections with Airlink’s domestic and regional network, which reaches across many Southern African destinations. The schedule will be made available at a later stage.

“Entebbe, situated on the shores of Lake Victoria, serves Kampala, which is Uganda’s economic and trading hub, but is also an important gateway to the eastern Africa economic community and the Great Lakes region, which represents a significant market. Our flights, will enable and strengthen closer relations and activity between the southern and eastern Africa blocs and will also make it possible for tourists to explore and experience the diverse and rich array of travel experiences of both regions,” says Airlink ceo and md, Rodger Foster.

Airlink’s fares include 20kg free checked-in luggage in economy class, plus a 15kg sporting equipment allowance. On board, economy-class passengers receive a complimentary light meal, refreshments and a choice of aisle or window seat (flights do not have middle seats).

There are six seats in business class on this route, offering extra width and generous pitch with plenty of leg-room, arranged in a two-plus-one-abreast configuration. Business-class service on the flights includes complimentary meals and beverages, a 30kg checked-in luggage allowance, priority boarding and lounge access at selected airports.
