Bolivia drops visas for South Africans

Bolivia has removed visa requirements for South African citizens travelling to the country for tourism.

The General Directorate of Migration published a communication last year stating that citizens from a number of countries, including South Africa, did not have to apply for a Bolivian visa from December 1, 2025.

“In this regard, the countries listed no longer require a consular visa or entry authorisation to enter national territory for tourism purposes,” the communication said.
