A strike by the UK Border Force on March 15 could disrupt more than 2 000 incoming flights.

The Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) has announced that 100 000 of its members will be striking, reports Travel Weekly.

According to data from aviation analytics firm, Cirium, 2 125 flights with a potential 365 000 travellers are scheduled to arrive at UK airports on the day. Heathrow will see the highest number of landings with 610 incoming flights, followed by Gatwick (267), Manchester (173), Stansted (168), and the Edinburgh (116).

The airline that will be operating the majority of the flights is British Airways, with 479 flights, followed by easyJet with 408 flights, and Ryanair with 265 flights.

According to PCS, the latest round of strikes forms part of its strategy to exert significant pressure on employers. It said that the targeted action has been highly effective so far.
