Qatar Airways will increase flights to Toronto to five weekly flights from June 19 and flights to São Paulo to 17 weekly flights from June 25.
Flights to Toronto Pearson Airport depart Doha every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 08h10, arriving in Toronto at 15h00. The return flight departs at 21h00 and arrives in Doha at 16h40.
The airline will offer daily flights to Toronto Pearson in its winter schedule. Flights will depart Doha at 08h25 and arrive in Toronto at 14h40. The return flight will depart at 20h10 and arrive in Doha at 16h55.
Flights to São Paulo will increase from 14 to 17 per week. The three new flights will depart on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. They will depart Doha at 00h10 and arrive in São Paulo at 09h00. The return flight will depart at 10h30 and arrive in Doha 06h45.
Emirates to launch Hangzhou flights
Emirates will launch a daily nonstop service between Dubai and Hangzhou from July 30.
The airline’s latest expansion into Hangzhou makes the city its fifth gateway into the Chinese mainland after Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
The new service will operate on a Boeing 777-300ER with eight first-class suites, 42 business- class and 304 economy-class seats.
The flight schedule will be as follows:
- Flight EK310 will depart Dubai at 09h40 and arrive in Hangzhou at 22h00.
- Flight EK311 will depart Hangzhou at 00h10 and arrive in Dubai at 04h55.
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, offers a blend of historical heritage, including the Unesco-listed West Lake, Leifeng Pagoda, the Imperial Street of the Southern Song Dynasty and the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City. It is also a significant hub for the tech industry.
Qatar codeshares with Philippine Airlines
Philippine Airlines (PR) will begin operating daily nonstop flights between Manila and Doha from June 16, under a new strategic partnership with Qatar Airways.
The agreement includes a codeshare arrangement in which Qatar Airways will place its code on the seven weekly PR-operated flights.
The route will be serviced by PR’s Airbus A330-300, configured with 18 flat-bed seats in business class and 341 in economy.
The flight schedule will be:
- Flight PR684 will depart Manila at 18h50 and arrive in Doha at 23h40.
- Flight PR685 will depart Doha at 01h30 and arrive in Manila at 16h15.
AA debuts premium suites
American Airlines will debut its new premium Flagship Suite on its newest Boeing 787-9 aircraft from June 5.
The suites feature privacy doors, personal storage space, a wireless charging pad, and a chaise longue that includes an adjustable headrest pillow. Gourmet offerings include a multi-course meal paired with award-winning wines.
Flagship Suite passengers will receive priority check-in, security, boarding and baggage handling, as well as access to American’s Flagship lounge with complimentary dishes and signature cocktails.
The new suites will first be available on the Chicago O’Hare-London route from June 5 and will gradually be introduced on other routes. They will also be added to the airline’s Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
VS opens LAX lounge to Priority Pass members
Virgin Atlantic has opened its LAX Clubhouse lounge to Priority Pass members.
Priority Pass members and LoungeKey cardholders can use a lounge entitlement and pay a top-up fee of $35 (R638) per person to enter the lounge. Children under two years can enter free.
Access is permitted three hours before the scheduled flight departure. Complimentary luggage storage is available inside the lounge. Premium alcoholic drinks are subject to payment.
Priority Pass members can access the lounge from 08h00-17h00 and 20h00-23-00 daily.
