Cape Town tops Africa in airport rankings

Skytrax has announced its list of the World’s Best Airports for 2026, with three South African airports placing in the Top 10 Best Airports in Africa.

Cape Town International Airport took first place, having also claimed awards for Best Airport Staff Service and Cleanest Airport in Africa. OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg placed second and Durban’s King Shaka International Airport placed fourth.

The Top 10 Best Airports in Africa are as follows:

  3. Marrakech
  4. Durban King Shaka
  5. Casablanca
  6. Cairo
  7. Mauritius
  8. Kigali
  9. Addis Ababa
  10. Antananarivo

Global airports

Globally, Singapore’s Changi Airport was named the World’s Best Airport for the 14th time. It also won awards for the World’s Best Airport Dining, the World’s Best Airport in the 60-70 million passenger category, the World’s Best Airport Immigration Service and the Best Airport in Asia.
