Las Vegas’s big casinos are offering hotel and ticket packages for the Formula 1 Grand Prix taking place in the city from November 16-18.
The 50-lap race will be the first Las Vegas Grand Prix since 1982, when it was called the Caesars Palace Grand Prix.
The organisers are expecting about 100 000 attendees on each day of the event, according to Front Office Sports.
The centre of the race will be the Fountains of Bellagio, and owner MGM Resorts International has been building a temporary grandstand in front of the fountains for the three-day event, travelawaits.com reports.
“F1 fans from around the globe will see how Las Vegas throws a party. In addition to the Bellagio Grandstands, which will set new standards for event viewing, we will create a round-the-clock celebration worthy of this international spectacle,” said Steve Zanella, MGM Resorts’ Chief Commercial Officer.
Edusport is offering packages for the event. Costs start at R68 525pps and R86 685 for single travellers for a package that includes four nights’ accommodation at the three-star Alexis Park Resort or similar (from November 15-19), an official three-day HG1 Grandstand Ticket (Thursday, November 16 to Saturday, November 18). The package includes digital tickets, numbered seats, food and non-alcoholic drinks, access to the West Harmon Zone, giant screen views and live entertainment.
