Changi Airport has made its debut into the metaverse, with the unveiling of its virtual world, ChangiVerse.

The playful interpretation of Changi Airport invites players to explore three key areas initially: Jewel, Terminal 3, and Airport Boulevard, where they can experience a variety of mini games.

On entering the virtual world, players are greeted by the world’s largest indoor waterfall surrounded by lush greenery in Jewel, where they can explore glamping tents, each with a different theme to celebrate festive seasons, or visit a café.

In Terminal 3, mini games include Check-in Champ, where players help travellers find the right check-in kiosk for their flight, and Baggage Expert, where players can assist travellers locate their luggage.

Airport Boulevard features the Obby Expert obstacle course mini game, challenging players to scale the building by bouncing on clouds to reach the top. Players can also visit the Plane Hangar to customise their own aircraft, or even visit Jurassic Mile.

The core game of ChangiVerse is the Changi Kart racing game, where the racer with the fastest lap timing of the month can win a pair of Singapore Airlines economy-class tickets until September.

Here, players will race on a circuit that weaves through Airport Boulevard, collecting purple Butterfly Tokens to boost their speed while avoiding obstacles like laser windmills or the sweeping tails of dinosaurs trudging alongside the track. Players can also exchange butterfly tokens for wearables, aircraft models and skins for the Plane Configurator.

The top three competitors on the leaderboard each week will have their avatars appear at T3’s winners’ podium, celebrating their wins with victory dances.
