Club Travel appoints two new directors

Club Travel Corporate has appointed Kananelo Makhetha and Nazeema Beilings as company directors.

Kananelo has held the position of ceo at Club Travel Corporate since March 2019 and has 20 years of executive management experience in travel and tourism. Previously, he oversaw the leadership and management operations at companies such as Travelex Africa and BCD Travel. Kananelo was a member of the South African government’s ministerial task group for tourism sector transformation in 2002, a past president of Asata and a past board member of South African Tourism. 

Nazeema joined Club Travel Corporate in October 2019 as part of the company’s executive committee in leading acquired travel technology company, Travellinck. Her recent experience includes head of projects, implementations and online support teams at Tourvest Travel Services and BCD Travel. She has 18 years’ management experience.

As a member of the board of directors, Kananelo’s new position will involve additional fiducial responsibility. “Club Travel has a unique company culture and set of values. We have won new business on the back of it,” he says. “The biggest challenge is to lead the company into growth and profitability speedily when travel resumes. Business recovery is our goal. We are working on automating our processes and re-purposing our client offerings by leveraging on the Travelstart relationship.”  

Nazeema says: “COVID-19 has heightened our customers’ need for cost-saving initiatives and with new technology and the invaluable strength of our team, we are on a rapid path to meeting these goals.”
