WELL-KNOWN luxury and semi-luxury coach charter company, Elwierda Gauteng, has been acquired - with effect from Friday, September 1 - by national charter company, Protours, increasing Protours' capacity to 45 luxury coaches and 57 semi-luxury coaches.
According to Protours' executive chairman, Fred Kinnear, Protours is to obtain additional permits to operate a wider range of services on specified routes and will increase its operational control as the number of vehicles now justify a 24-hour control room, as well as technical division and infrastructure.
Kinnear added that the company is looking at adding new vehicles featuring the "latest technological specifications" this month.
Operations will be managed from the Elwierda premises in Centurion, Pretoria and contact details remain the same.
