Star Clippers will soon introduce its inaugural voyage programme in Cuba. Star Flyer will set sail from Costa Rica on February 2, arriving in Cienfuegos, Cuba, on February 16.
The voyage will include calls at Cayo Blanco; Casilda; Little Cayman and George Town; Cayo Largo, Archipelago de los Canarreos; ending in Cienfuegos. Guests also have the option of pre- and post-cruise stays in Havana.
Star Flyer will then operate a series of six- and seven-night voyages in Cuba until March 29 before returning to St Maarten. It will then head to the Mediterranean, with a transatlantic crossing between St Maarten and Lisbon.
Cruise Vacations is offering clients a bonus ‘air credit’ saving as well as a US$100 (R1 016) per booking bonus commission to agents for bookings on two seven-night departures on March 2 and March 9. Bookings are also open for the extended 2014/15 Cuba season, which will run from December 2014 to March 2015. Depending on the departure selected, passengers will benefit from an early booking saving of up to 20%, for bookings made before April 30.
“Since launching the itineraries, we have realised there is a real demand for Cuba as a holiday destination and we are delighted that so many South African passengers have chosen to cruise with Star Clippers during its inaugural season in Cuba. We believe that in cruising, guests get the opportunity to experience more of the region and some of the stunning islands and archipelagos,” says Gaynor Neill, gm of Cruise Vacations, local agents for Star Clippers.
