Ryanair introduces unruly pax fine

Ryanair has introduced a €500 (R10 341) fine for disruptive passengers whose unruly behaviour results in them being offloaded from the aircraft.

Ryanair stated in a press release that, while this is an industry-wide issue affecting all airlines, it is committed to addressing unruly passenger behaviour for the benefit of its passengers and crew, and will also continue to pursue disruptive passengers for civil damages.

A Ryanair spokesperson said: “It is unacceptable that passengers are made to suffer unnecessary disruption because of one unruly passenger’s behaviour. While these are isolated events which happen across all airlines, disruptive behaviour in such a confined shared space is unacceptable, and we hope that our proactive approach will act as a deterrent to eliminate this unacceptable behaviour onboard our aircraft.”
