Passengers can now earn and redeem American Airlines’ AAdvantage miles for travel on Cathay Pacific and Cathay Pacific codeshare flights operated by oneworld carriers and affiliates.
To earn miles, passengers must have an eligible fare ticket, booking code and fly an eligible route. Regions must be between Asia and Africa; Canada; Europe; the Indian subcontinent; Middle East; South Pacific; and the US.
Details for earning miles:
First-class passengers, booked on A or F fares, earn 100% base miles with a 50% cabin bonus.
Business-class passengers, booked on C, D, I and J fares, earn 100% base miles with 25% cabin bonus.
A ticket in a premium economy cabin, booked on a W fare earns 100% base miles and 10% cabin bonus (with the exception of Hong Kong and Bangkok). Premium economy class booked in R and E earns 100% base miles with no cabin bonus.
Economy-class bookings on Y fares earn 100% base miles with no cabin bonus. Those booked on B or H fares earn 75% base miles with no cabin bonus.
AAdvantage miles can be used to book award travel on Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon. This allows passengers to travel to and from destinations using any combination of airline participants.
