A notice to Emirates customers stating that the airline had cut all flights to Johannesburg is fake.
The notice, displaying the Emirates logo, was circulated among the travel trade and on social media, stating that the airline had suspended all flights, effective March 7.
An Emirates spokesperson told eTNW: “We would like to confirm that all Emirates flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban are operating as normal. For flight updates, please visit: https://www.emirates.com/za/english/help/travel-updates/.”
Emirates has cut its JHB capacity for the month of March. This is a temporary reduction from five to three flights per day.
