ET eyes 2028 Australia flights

Ethiopian Airlines has set 2028 as the goal for non-stop flights to Australia, as long as the airline secures additional widebody aircraft to operate the route.

CEO Mesfin Tasew, told reporters at a press briefing in Addis Ababa last week, that the airline would need two aircraft for the route and that it could take at least two years to receive these aircraft from manufacturers.

However, Tasew cautioned that the 2028 timeline was reliant on the aircraft delivery.

Two Australian cities have been shortlisted for the planned 2028 launch, however they have not been named by the airline yet.
