Etihad Airways is to increase its non-stop service between Abu Dhabi and Boston from four flights a week to daily, with effect from October 27.

The decision comes just three months after the carrier introduced Boston as its fourth destination in the US, joining Chicago, New York and Washington DC. Etihad also has flights to Toronto, Canada.

Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, said: “Having already experienced record passenger demand, we’re excited to invest further in the North American market by expanding our flight frequency out of Boston ahead of the peak winter travel season.”

The flight is operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner featuring the airline's Business Studios and Economy Smart seats.

There are 28 seats in business and 262 seats in economy, equipped with entertainment systems, in-seat power, and in-flight WiFi connectivity.

Etihad has a partnership with JetBlue, offering connections to numerous cities throughout North America.

The US Customs and Border Protection facility at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi enables guests to clear US immigration and customs inspections before boarding. With all the checks out of the way before take-off, travellers can pick up their bags and go as soon as they land in the US. It is reportedly the only CBP facility in the Middle East.

Etihad will also begin operating its Airbus A350 daily to Toronto Pearson International Airport from October 27.

Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, the Airbus A350 is reportedly one of the most efficient aircraft types in the world, with 25% less fuel burn and CO2 emissions than previous models. The aircraft also features Etihad’s newest cabin interior.
