A new airline – headed up by ex-SAA and SA Express ceo, Siza Mzimela, and Theunis Potgieter and Jerome Simelane, also ex-SAA – has applied for an Air Services Licence (ASL) to operate scheduled flights between Cape Town and OR Tambo International.

The airline, Fly Blue Crane, is a subsidiary of Blue Crane Aviation, which provides African airlines with specialist airline consulting, aviation legal services and aircraft management services.

Spokesperson for Blue Crane Aviation, Rich Mkhondo, confirmed the application: “We applied for an ASL for potential future prospects of launching a regional airline.”
