Expo lines up industry 'who's who'

AS approximately 60% of the available exhibition space for South Africa's first annual Incentives, Conventions and Business Travel Expo (ICT) - to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre between February 22-24, 2001 - has been sold, it is envisaged that all space will be sold out by December.
According to the organisers, South Africa RAI, the exhibitor list already boasts a veritable 'Who's who' of global industry names, including Avis, Thompsons SA, Sun International, Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve, Rovos Rail, Dubai Tourism and Tourism Malaysia.
Furthermore, the ICT has scored another international coup as the high-profile International Special Events Society (ISES) will hold its annual conference during the show, while South Africa's Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) will host a breakfast for its members.
Exhibition manager, Liz Hart, says major drawcards will include a 'Zambezi Spectacular' arena event involving a range of interactive teambuilding events, a creative Golf Pavilion sponsored by the Professional Golfers Association and an Internet Café hosted by Reservations Hotline.
Targeted exclusively at the MICE (meetings, incentives, conference and exhibition) market and offering, as its main objective, the latest in destinations, function venues and products world-wide, ICT has been endorsed by well-known associations such as SITE, APCOSA, the MICE Club and Gauteng Tourism.
According to Hart, South Africa RAI is currently developing an exclusive Website which will offer information on the exhibition and enable visitors to pre-book appointments with exhibitors prior to their arrival.
