Namibian operator, Onguma, is set to open a seasonal eco-friendly glamping offering in the 34 000ha Onguma Private Game Reserve on the eastern border of Etosha National Park on April 1.

Described as the “first of its kind in Namibia”, Onguma Trails Camp will offer four bell tents accommodating a maximum of eight guests in king-size or twin beds. Each tent will feature an ensuite bathroom and wood-fired hot tub.

The camp will offer guests a two-night walking trail experience that can be extended to three nights. Led by experienced trails guides, the walking safaris provide guests with the chance to spot four of Big Five on foot and gain a more intimate understanding of the Namibian wilderness. Sundowner game drives and stargazing will also be available. Guests must be at least 16 years of age and in reasonably good health.

The camp’s 2025 season will run through Namibia’s cooler months, ending on September 30.

The glamping experience can easily be combined with a stay at one of Onguma’s five lodges on the reserve accessed via a private air charter to the Mokuti airstrip or by road.
