First look: Universal’s new theme park

Universal Orlando Resort has released photos from its new theme park – Universal Epic Universe – set to open on May 22.

The new park will have five uniquely themed ‘worlds’: Celestial Park; The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic; Super Nintendo World; How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk; and Dark Universe.

Visitors will enter Celestial Park through the Chronos portal. The park includes dining, shopping, rollercoasters and entertainment areas. The Universal Grand Helios Hotel is in the park along with portals to the other parks.

The Viking village of Berk in the How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk world will have a lagoon and a number of rides, including a ‘dragon-flying’ experience.

The Super Nintendo World features characters, games, dining and experiences from the Nintendo Universe.

The Dark Universe features attractions linked to legendary villains including Frankenstein Manor, home to Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

In the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, visitors enter the world of 1920s Paris as seen in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise and can also travel to the British Ministry of Magic for the ‘Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry’ ride.
