FlySafair has announced a new three-year sponsorship deal with the Proteas, South Africa’s national cricket team, to become its official domestic airline partner.

FlySafair will endorse both the men’s and women’s cricket teams. The airline has also sponsored the national rugby team, the Springboks, since 2017.

Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair, said: “As a proudly South African airline, we have always believed in backing initiatives that reflect the spirit and resilience of our nation. Our partnership with the Proteas is more than just a sponsorship; it’s a testament to our belief in the future of Cricket South Africa and our commitment to uplifting South African sport.”

Mtunzi Jonas, Chief Commercial Officer at Cricket South Africa, said the sponsorship was crucial as the country embarked on rebuilding and renewing its cricket teams.

To celebrate the partnership, FlySafair is creating a unique ‘Proteas Plane’ and launching a creative competition inviting Proteas fans to submit their design ideas.

The winning design will earn match tickets and R10 000 in FlySafair flight vouchers.
