The Azerbaijan Government has announced that registered participants in COP29, to be held in Azerbaijan, will be able to apply for a COP29 Special Visa, free of charge.

The event will take place in Baku from November 11-22 this year.

According to the event organisers the single-entry visa, will only cover one entry and if attendees wish to leave the country, they will need to reapply for the special visa to re-enter.

Attendees can apply for the special visa after receiving approval of registration for the event on the UNFCCC Online Registration System. A link to apply for the special visa will be provided in the registration confirmation email.

Foreign visitors need to have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the country.  The visa will be valid from approval until November 30, 2024. Attendees to the event will need to enter the Republic of Azerbaijan before this date.
