Harmony sets sail, redefines cruise vacations

The world’s largest ship is officially at sea. Royal Caribbean International’s Harmony of the Seas, returned from her pre-inaugural voyage on May 22 to begin a series of short getaways to Northern Europe, sailing from Southampton in the UK.
A brand known for constant innovation, RCI has transformed the world of cruising with the latest addition to its fleet, dubbed by RCI president and ceo, Michael Bayley, as a “testament to human collaboration”.
Measuring 1188 feet in length, Harmony is an attraction-packed destination of her own. Her claim to fame, however, is less about size and more about what that size enables. The ship boasts innovative firsts such as the tallest slide (10 stories) at sea; impressive technologies which include VOOM, the fastest internet at sea; as well as thousands of pieces of art.
The Harmony of the Seas caters to a wide range of interests which is why RCI’s executives believe the ship will appeal to a broad range of travellers and caters particularly well to multigenerational families.
More on this ground-breaking new ship to follow in TNW.
