Have you had reports of the ‘customs clampdown’?

29 May 2018 - by The Editor

South African authorities have tightened the screws on a law introduced in the 1980s that states that travellers need to register their electronic equipment before departing the country if they want to bring it back in, using a DA 65 form stamped and signed by Sars. It applies to all electronics, including mobile phones, laptops, tablets, cameras and even watches.
TNW would like to know if you have had any reports of this clampdown or if your clients have been affected. If so, please email candicem@nowmedia.co.za
