Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has announced new itineraries featuring South Africa, Mozambique and the Indian Ocean as part of its 28-route expansion for the 2027/28 season.

From November 22 to December 8, 2027, the Hanseatic Nature expedition ship will sail from Cape Town to Mahé, Seychelles, calling at Hermanus, Mossel Bay, Gqeberha, Durban, Richards Bay, Nacala (Mozambique), Mamoudzou (Mayotte), Praslin, Cousin and Victoria over the course of 16 days.

The cruise will include access to coastal and wildlife-rich areas using Zodiacs for shore landings.

The MS Europa will also operate regional sailings during the same period. One of its key itineraries departs from Cape Town en route to Mauritius via Mossel Bay, Gqeberha, Durban, Richards Bay and Port d’Ehoala (Madagascar) before continuing to Réunion. The voyage will highlight regional safari excursions and the Garden Route.

A separate festive-season cruise aboard MS Europa will sail from Port Louis (Mauritius) to Colombo (Sri Lanka) from December 18, 2027 to January 4, 2028 with stops including La Réunion, multiple islands in the Seychelles and two ports in the Maldives.
