Hilton expands offering in Mauritius

Hilton has announced it will open the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Mauritius in partnership with Ebène Square.

Set to open in 2026, the property will offer 135 rooms and suites and will provide guests with unique food and beverage offerings, a lobby lounge, pool bar and a rooftop lounge. Other facilities include meeting rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, spa, and gym.

Dev Ramnah, Ebène Square MD, said: “The signing of Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Mauritius is significant for us because it marks the introduction of the first Hilton Garden Inn in the country. We are delighted to partner with Hilton on this project because of the strength and recognition the hospitality company brings.

“The introduction of the hotel to Mauritius will contribute to the development of Phoenix and the surrounding region, further positioning it as a vibrant and dynamic town.”

Why Mauritius?

Jan Van der Putten, Hilton Vice President, Operations, Africa and Indian Ocean, said Hilton had a proud history of pioneering travel and tourism in Africa for over 60 years and expected to more than double its portfolio over the next 20 years.

“Ultimately, our goal is to be in every major city and proven resort location where our customers travel, and Mauritius is no exception. We are currently operating Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, and have been operating this hotel for over 20 years. The introduction of Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Mauritius will be an exciting new addition.”

Van der Putten said Mauritius was benefiting from  greater inbound travel from key markets since travel restrictions had eased.

Mauritius is accessible from Hilton’s various key source markets – Germany, France, the UK, Réunion and Switzerland – in terms of flight connections. From Africa, 32 of the 34 African countries (including South Africa) can access the country without visas or with visas on arrival.

Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Mauritius is 32km from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, south of Ebène City.
