The Department of Home Affairs will extend operating hours at all offices that use a fully digital process until 19h00 for the month of February.
The extended hours are in effect until February 28 and only apply on weekdays.
It is up to the discretion of office managers or supervisors to close the office 30 minutes prior to closing time, subject to the number of people being served. This is to allow officials to serve everyone still inside the office before 19h00.
Applications for and collection of smart ID cards and passports will be prioritised during the extended operating hours.
