Hong Kong’s immigration department will increase fees for some services, including the issuing of visas and entry permits from September 8.
Visa fee increases include the following:
- Ordinary visas: increase from HK$230 (R515) to HK$330 (R740)
- Transit visas: increase from HK$120 (R270) to HK$170 (R380)
- Change of condition of stay (including extension of stay): increase from HK$230 (R515) to HK$330 (R740)
- Entry permit valid for one entry: increase from HK$230 (R515) to HK$330 (R740)
- Entry permit for multiple entries (valid for one year): increase from HK$470 (R1 052) to HK$670 (R1 500)
- Entry permit for multiple entries (valid for three years): increase from HK$935 (R2 093) to HK$1 350 (R3 022)
- Re-entry permit: increase from HK$55 (R123) to HK$70 (R157)
- Multiple re-entry permit: increase from HK$170 (R380) to HK$210 (R470)
South African passport holders can travel to Hong Kong visa-free for up to 30 days. However, Southern African countries such as Angola and Eswatini require a visa.
